Glynda Barrett Pendergrass was born and educated in Dickson County, Tennessee.  She graduated from Dickson High School in 1969 and received a BS degree in Business Education from Austin Peay State University.

She spent 4½ years as a High School Business teacher at Dickson County High School prior to being elected Trustee in August 2002.  She was a secretary/office manager in a construction business for over 20 years.  She also worked in the tax and accounting business with her father.  Glynda has received designation from the University of Tennessee for Government Training as a Certified Public Administrator.  She also received a Certificate of Attainment from the University of Tennessee Local Government Leadership Program.

She is currently a member of the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce, First Baptist Church, Tennessee Trustees’ Association, Middle Tennessee Trustees’ Association, and the County Officials Association of Tennessee.  She has three children; Mark, Jamey, and Audra.  She also has four grandchildren.
